Marcus May of Mayday Filmworks is creating films that are both inspiring, educational and entertaining. The films are socially conscious and each have a piece of social commentary.
Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Marcus May has been exploring his love for writing and film making since the tender age of seven.
As a student at Indiana University, Marcus played college basketball while obtaining a degree in business. Upon graduating, Marcus and his wife moved to New York City where Marcus began working for J.P. Morgan. Concurrently, never foregoing his love for motion picture, Marcus enrolled in New York University and began taking courses in screenwriting.
The New Radar had the pleasure of working with Marcus on his blog, facebook page, twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube and logo design. The most exciting part was working with him to get funding for his most recent film, “Repercussions”/ “AIDS TEST” by using KickStarter. “Repercussions” is a modern day drama fueled by the discovery that a shared interest between friends can be deadly. A regular day suddenly takes a dramatic twist when Kendra receives life altering news from her physician. As Kendra’s close friend Vivian rushes to her side for support, their lives will be forever shaped by the outcome of Kendra’s results. Suspense builds as Vivian encourages Kendra to confront her serious boyfriend of almost a year, prompting all three to pay the ultimate price. We thought this project was important to raise awareness to the still prevalent AIDS issue.
Some of Marcus’ other projects include “Unfamiliar Paintings” and “12 Floors Up” in addition to other upcoming projects.
