Fortunately, the name is the opposite of what you get. Badlydrawndog is a collection of works, most of which are commissioned pet portraits by Indianapolis native, Christopher Harden. When it comes to Badlydrawndog, Harden says “I use a variety of media, primarily oil and acrylics on canvas. I hope that my love for our canine friends comes across in these whimsical pieces. I enjoy vivid colors, heavy-handed brush strokes, playing with texture and bold outlines. A few years back I painted a portrait of Sampson, my brother and sister-in-law’s pit bull and since then I have painted more than 100 dogs, 4 cats and 1 giraffe.”
Harden loves to give back and regularly donates his artwork to rescues or animal-friendly charities and non-profits like the Humane Society.
Chris self describes himself as “a very high energy, bilingual, creative type. I love dogs, people, music, food, fashion, film and art. These days I spend my time painting and doing freelance design work. I concentrate on print media mostly with an emphasis on Identity development…” More about Chris…
