Still relying on solely Facebook, Twitter newspaper ads, email blasts and flyers to communicate to your people or using them for your clients? If you’re a marketing agency or business owner and you’re NOT using a mobile platform yet, you should definitely read on. You may just be getting a handle on the social media/networking arena, but are people listening or are you just shouting, hoping somebody will hear you and take action?
Looking at your own habits should help you get the point.
How many unread emails, Facebook invites and messages do you have in your inboxes? How many tweets did you miss since the last time you were on Twitter? How many people responded or came to your event because of flyers you passed out or an advertisement in the paper? What was your return or open rate on your coupons and emails? 2-3% at best. I’m not a math wiz, but 3% return sounds pretty low. If you’re not tracking that kind of data, there is a problem, but that is another post. Read “Mass marketing is no longer a long term strategy.”
Now think of how many text messages you have that are unread. Get where this is going? What if you could send your fans, followers, customers and supporters a text message when you have updates or special things going on with a click of a button? What if those same followers, fans and supporters could opt-in to you or your client’s campaigns, special offers, events, coupons, etc by simply texting “KEYWORD” to 90210?
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist or marketing “expert” to figure out why you would want to have this capability, but we’ll put it in plain English for those who still don’t follow.
1) You have messages you want to be read.
2) You want to get those messages to the people who actually want those messages.
3) You know that somebody really wants to get messages from you if they opt-in to a mobile campaign because that is more personal.
4) You want to send those people those messages as easily and time/cost efficiently as possible.
5) You will save paper, printing costs time & money by using a mobile platform.
6) You want to be able to track how effective your campaigns are so you can see what is working.
